* Meteobridge device is completely managed by your PC's browser, you don't have to install any additional software on your PC.
+
* Meteobridge connects to your LAN or WLAN.
+
* Supported WLAN types are be 802.11n, 802.11g, or 802.11b.
+
* All main WLAN encryption standards are supported (WEP, WPA, WPA2).
+
* When your LAN/WLAN is behind a proxy, Meteobridge can be configured to use the proxy instead of trying to directly connect to the Internet.
+
* Your weather data will be sent directly to the Internet weather network, nothing in-between.
+
* Meteobridge can be used for free during a 14 day tryout period. After that a one-time licensing of the device is necessary to use it further on. Licensing can be done via Paypal with a few clicks oder by a license key to be entered manually.
+
* Meteobridge supports a broad range of [[Stations|weather stations]]. Please see Chapter "Stations" to get more details on this.
+
* Meteobridge's web interface is secured by a password you can change.
+
* Meteobridge can be resetted to default network behavior and default password with the unit's reset button. So you should never be locked out, whatever you did wrong when configuring the network parameters or changing passwords.
+
* There is an Internet application that allows you to make a network configuration for your Meteobridge device without having that running yet. Configuration can be downloaded to USB stick and when starting Meteobridge device with this stick plugged in, it will use the stored configuration for startup. This is a significant simplification when setting up meteobridge as a WLAN device or in non-DHCP LAN environments.
+
* Meteobridge can be asked by HTTP GET requests for recent ensor data in plain text or XML style.
+
* Beside sending weather data to Internet weather networks Meteobridge can also
+
** upload weather data to twitter accounts,
+
** send weather data to Internet servers via HTTP GET requests,
+
** store data at a MYSQL databases,
+
** send e-mails with embedded weather data.
+
** ftp upload of files received from a http server in the Internet and with weather data filled in by Meteobridge.
+
* Meteobridge can send e-mail and twitter alarms with customized texts, when user-defined sensor thresholds are reached.

Please keep in mind that features marked as planned in this section, are not guaranteed to show up. Nevertheless, it might be interesting for you to at least get an idea, what next steps in development to expect.

This section gives you information about meteobridge hardware, total RAM capacity and how much of that is already in use, which should not go beyond 90%. It also shows version of used Linux kernel and version of Meteobridge application software.

Security section allows you to change the password that protects meteobridge web interface against unauthorized access. This password is in sync with the password for user root when you try to login via ssh. You can easily change the password by typing in the new password twice.
* Hardware provides 4 MB of flash and 32 MB RAM. This is very very limited, so don't expect large additional applications which might for example display graphs locally to be able to run on this.
+

* Meteobridge clients will not store gathered weather data locally. The most recent data to be transmitted to a weather network is available plus some min/max values. Beside that, no data will be stored locally.
+
Smartbedded UG has a feature implemented which allows remote login to a Meteobridge when provided the MAC. This is very usefull for bug fixing, but you can switch this feature off by clearing the mark of corresponding checkbox.

System

This section gives you information about meteobridge hardware, total RAM capacity and how much of that is already in use, which should not go beyond 90%. It also shows version of used Linux kernel and version of Meteobridge application software.

Security

Security section allows you to change the password that protects meteobridge web interface against unauthorized access. This password is in sync with the password for user root when you try to login via ssh. You can easily change the password by typing in the new password twice.

Smartbedded UG has a feature implemented which allows remote login to a Meteobridge when provided the MAC. This is very usefull for bug fixing, but you can switch this feature off by clearing the mark of corresponding checkbox.

Localization

This sections shows date und time in UTC and in the timezone you have selected. If no timezone is selected Meteobridge takes UTC as you local timezone. Please select timezone matching your weather station's location. When changing timezone a reboot is required to get all system services adapted to this change.

Metebridge's web interface comes in two pre-defined languages, "English" and "German". There will be added more languages over time. If you like to do a translation into your preferred language, you can download a template with "Download Language File" button. Simply fill in the corresponding tranlatin in UTF-8 after the "::" marks and send the file to "info(at)meteobridge.com".

Some weather networks require coordinates of your weather station. Please enter location by latitude and longitude as decimals. The orange "i" icons do lead you to a web site, where you can easily find out coordinates of any location in the world.

Network Status

This section shows IP or WLAN IP used by Meteobridge regarding if meteobridge is working in a cabled or wireless environment. It also displays the system's MAC. You also find network parameters like gateway, netmask and DNS meteobridge is using at the moment. If you have made changes to the network setup, this is not reflected here until Meteobridge is rebooted. WAN IP does report IP your router uses to connect to the Internet. When there is no Internet connection an error message will displayed instead.

Messages

Messaging section shows system notifications, mainly around status of data logging functions of Meteobridge. When Meteobridge does not work as expected, a look into this log might give hints what goes wrong.

Submit Changes

When you press "Save and Apply" new pasword and timezone settings are stored. Reboot button does not store data, but will initiate a reboot of your Meteobridge device.
