Die Router werden durch das Flashen mit der Meteobridge-Firmware zu einer Meteobridge. Da beim Flashen eine nicht von TP-LINK oder ASUS authorisierte Firmware verwendet wird, erlischt dadurch die Herstellergewährleistung auf diese Geräte. Das bedeutet, dass die Hersteller Gewährleistungsansprüche bei einem Defekt dieser Geräte ablehnen werden. Smartbedded UG (haftungsbeschränkt), der Eigentümer des Produktes Meteobridge, gibt auf die veränderten Geräte ebenfalls keine Gewährleistung. Wenn also das Gerät während oder nach dem Flashen einen Defekt zeigt, können daraus keine Ansprüche geltend gemacht werden. Da die Router sehr preiswert sind, ist der potentielle finanzielle Schaden sehr gering. Man sollte sich des Risikos aber bewußt sein, das Flashen erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr. Wer diesen Weg nicht gehen möchte, sollte sich an einen der Meteobridge Reseller wenden, die fertig aufgebaute Meteobridges anbieten, inklusive der gesetzlichen Gewährleistungen.

Der WL-330N3G besitzt nicht die Beschränkung der TP-Link-Router nur USB 2.0 zu unterstützen, sondern kann USB 1.x Geräten ohne zwischengeschalteten USB Hub direkt ansprechen.
