Settings page allows to make some fundamental assignments. As explained in Getting Started section following settings need to be done to make Meteoplug operational:
- Language: Select your preferred language (German and English is available from the beginning, more languages might be added later on).
- Time Zone: Select your time zone, resp. the timezone your weather station is positioned in. This setting is very important to make graphs etc right later on.
- Longitude and Latitude: Give exact coordinates of the position of your weather station. Coordinates are entered in degrees, minutes and seconds (just as integers). If you have decimal positions, please use a service like this to compute the needed numbers from that.
- Upload Interval: Select a standard upload interval and a shorter interval being used during first 10 minutes after reboot of the client and after a change in client configuration.
- Station Name: Defines the name used to display your station and station's data on the meteoplug map. When left empty, your station will not be displayed on the map.
- Selected Chart: This feature allows you to easily navigate to one of your charts by simply calling "meteoplug.com" with a domain prefix identical to your Meteoplug user id. Then your user id is "tom", then "tom.meteoplug.com" will directly call the chart you have selected here. "__dashboard-1" is the default chart. When you don't want to have that kind of direct data access, select "None" as chart. Option "frame instead of redirect" allows to have the chart to be displayed inside a frame on the current subdomain URL without having the URL in the browser changing to the redirect target.
Pressing "Save" makes your changes effective. When information on Longitude or Latitude is missing you will receive an error message complaining about that.
When you are sending data with a Meteohub system, only language, time zone and selection of direct access chart can be changed with Meteoplug. Other settings are displayed read only and are controlled from Meteohub system.
When you have Sensors assigned you can specify sensor calibration values. For each value to be changed you have to provide:
- Sensor: ID of the sensor to be calibrated.
- Unit: Kind of data that should be calibrated. Most sensors deliver a bucket of different values (example: many temp sensors do give information about humidity as well). Therefore, it is necessary to specify what piece of data should be calibrated.
- Factor and Offset: Calibration is done in a linear mode by specifying a factor and an offset.
- Date (UTC): Defines time stamp (in UTC) that gives starting point for applying the calibration to the data. Newer calibration definitions overwrite older ones.
Example above applies a calibration to primary temp/hum outdoor sensor "th0". Calibration is applied to temperate and humidity, both starting at 15th December 2009 at 00:00 UTC. Temperate data is increased by .5 °C and Humidity values are increased by 3% points.
